Good friends of mine and awesome Grammy Winners, Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band just released Made in L.A., an amazing album for kids and adults.
With the hit single already blowing the charts up, Paletero Man is an awesome throwback song for me. It reminds me of the growing up in South Texas and summer vacation. When we were growing up there wasn’t much to do but play outside and visit friends and like clockwork at 3 p.m. a paletero man would roll by my friends house. We would load up on ice cream and cool off for a bit before playing some more.

The rest of the album is so good! I absolutely love it. With a track list starting off with “The Magic Believers,” which is one of my favorites and is a throwback to an oldies feel style of music, I just can’t get enough of it. I sing it over and over in the car with the kids. Followed by tracks like “Traffic” which paints a picture of the horrible traffic in L.A. but puts a fun twist on being stuck in traffic, which is extremely relatable because of IH 35 traffic in Texas. Have you been IH 35 lately? Continuing on with “Pato Loco” which is a fun upbeat, super high energy song that all three of my kids have been singing since I got a preview copy of the album. I couldn’t find one song I didn’t like. One that was a great tale of when it once rained in L.A. is “When It Rained” a song about a grandpa telling his grandkids when it rained once in sunny L.A. It is a great fun song to listen to.
Also, it’s no secret that me and Lucky are homies! Every time he is in Austin you know we have to meet up!
